PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a thin separator, which can secure the strength and the resistance to internal short-circuiting and which has the excellent profitability, by using the nonwoven fabric processed material at the predetermined porosity, which is formed by pressurizing the required nonwoven fabric, as a separator of a non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery. SOLUTION: The soluble fiber having 100-180 deg.C of melting point and 0.1-10μm of diameter is pressurized and molded to form the nonwoven fabric. This nonwoven fabric is processed to form the nonwoven fabric processed material at 30-40% of porosity, and this nonwoven fabric processed material is used as a separator. This separator at several 10μm of thickness can secure the sufficient strength and the sufficient resistance to internal short-circuiting, and has the excellent profitability. Consequently, A non-aqueous electrolyte secondary battery having high charging and discharging performance and the excellent safety and profitability is obtained by using this separator. |
