PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To stably obtain the subject fiber free from discoloration and having sustainably excellent antimicrobial deodorant function. SOLUTION: A chitosan-immobilized fiber is obtained by such a procedure that the surface of a fiber is immobilized with 0.1-5wt.%, based on the fiber, of chirosan by forming a polyion complex with polyanion. The objective fiber is obtained, for example, by impregnating the above original fiber with a treating solution A followed by a treating solution B, or vice versa, successively. The treating solutions are as follows: the solution A: an aqueous polyanion solution containing 0.1-10wt.% of the polyanion; and the solution B: a chitosan solution prepared by dissolving 0.1-10wt.% of chitosan in an aqueous acid solution containing 0.1-20wt.% of an acid. |
