PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To intensify braking force when the emergency brake is applied by introducing high pressure into a wheel cylinder with its control input lessened by a braking pressure switching means when an emergency braking operation is detected by an emergency brake operation detecting means. SOLUTION: When a braking pedal 5 is quickly operated, it is judged by a control circuit 100 based on the stroke of the braking pedal 5 detected by a stroke sensor 65 connected to the braking pedal 5 that the emergency brake has been applied. The control circuit 100 having judged that the emergency brake has been applied, switches a switching valve 50 over to a second position. A regulator port 2a is communicated with pressure boosting valves 42 and 43 through the switching valve 50, and concurrently, communication is interrupted between a port 2c communicated with the pressure chamber 10 of a hydraulic pressure booster 1 and each pressure boosting valve 42 and 43. Regulator pressure regulated by a spool valve 18 is introduced to wheel brakes 35 and 36 mounted on front wheels in stead of the pressure of the pressure chamber 10. |
