PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To automatize gun shooting preparation by comparing with a reference value an image signal from a pair of television cameras provided separately, and automatically detecting an error between the line of slight and the gun axis. SOLUTION: A first image signal A' from a first television camera 11 provided on a shooting regulating apparatus 10 and having a line 4a of sight for imaging a target 12 after digitized is stored in a first memory 13, and read out into an addition circuit 14. A second image signal B' of a second television camera 15 provided on a gun 5 located apart from the shooting regulating apparatus 10 and having a gun axis 5a coincident with the target 12 is inverted in an inversion circuit 16 into a second image signal B' bar which is stored in a second memory 17 and read out therefrom into the addition circuit 14. The additional image signal A'+B' bars are compared with each other using A' or B' bar as a reference value C in a comparator circuit 20 to estimate displacement valuesΔx,Δy which are in turn regarded as an error between the line of sight and the gun axis 5a. Thus, the error between the gun axis and the line of sight is found without any assistance.
