PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a carboxylated polymer composition having excellent solubility in water and excellent in thickening properties and flow characteristics. SOLUTION: This composition consists of a crosslinked polymer (A) made from anα,β-unsaturated carboxylic acid and a compound having at least two ethylenically unsaturated groups and at least one polymer (B) selected from polyethylene oxide and polymers having vinyl pyrrolidone as the essential constituent.
