PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain an electrical insulating material high in vol. resistance and little in dependence of vol. resistance on temp. SOLUTION: This electrical insulating material consists of a resin comprising an ethylene (co)polymer of at most 0.4eV in electric activation energy satisfying the below-cited physical properties (A) to (D) and obtd. by (co)polymn. of ethylene or ethylene and a 3-20Cα-olefin in the presence of a catalyst contg. at least one of transition metal compds. contg. a ligand having a cyclopentadienyl skeleton with the transition metal belonging to the group IV in the periodic table. (A) density: 0.86 to 0.97g/cm<3> . (B) melt flow rate(MFR): 0.01 to 100g/10min. (C) mol.wt. distribution (Mw/Mn): 1.5 to 5.0. (D) composition distribution parameter Cb: at most 1.15.
