A wheel for a vehicle such as a cycle, including a rim, a hub freely rotatably about an axis defining the rotational axis of the wheel, a first series of spokes connecting a first axial end of the hub to the rim, and a second series of spokes connecting the second axial end of the hub to the rim. The first series of spokes (23) and optionally the second series of spokes (25) include(s) at least one spoke (27, 30) with a straight end (28) aligned with the longitudinal spoke axis (29) and provided with a first abutment means (31) aligned with the longitudinal spoke axis. The first axial end (24), or the first (24) and the second axial end (26) of the hub (21) include(s) at least one second abutment means (32) aligned with the longitudinal spoke axis for engaging the first abutment means and thereby tensioning the spoke.
