OPTICAL TIMING JITTER COMPENSATION CIRCUIT

PURPOSE: To provide an optical timing jitter compensation circuit with which timing jitter can be compensated by controlling delay while keeping an optical signal inputted from the outside as it is without converting the optical signal to an electric signal. CONSTITUTION: An optical branching part 11 branches an input optical pulse train. A phase comparator part 12 inputs one input optical pulse train branched by the optical branching part 11 and the clock signal of the input optical pulse train, compares their phases and outputs a differential signal proportional to the phase difference. An optical variable delay part 13 inputs the other input optical pulse train branched by the optical branching part 11 and the differential signal outputted from the phase comparator part 12, changes time delay to the input optical pulse train corresponding to the differential signal and outputs the optical pulse train for which the timing jitter is reduced.
