PURPOSE: To effectively use light from a light source for lighting by radiating it outside by arranging a reflection mirror leading the light from the light source to the back of a platelike liquid crystal display part at a position visible from the outside by the movement of the liquid crystal display part. CONSTITUTION: This video display device is provided with a plasma address liquid crystal display part 3 taking in the light from the light source 2, for instance, a fluorescent tube from the back and displaying a video, and the reflection mirror 6 leading the light transmitted through a transparent glass 4 from the light source 2 to the back of the plasma address liquid crystal display part 3 and also being visible from the outside by the movement of the liquid crystal display part 3 to housing space 5. The light source 2, the plasma address display part 3 and the reflection mirror 6 are housed in a housing box 7, and the housing box 7 is provided with the housing space 5 housing the display part 3. When the plasma address display part 3 is housed in the housing space 5, the reflection mirror 6 is exposed to the outside. Thus, the light from the light source 2 is radiated to the outside, so that it is used as the lighting for the outside. |
