IMAGE FORMATION MATERIAL FOR FORMATION OF IMPROVED PRINTING PLATE BY SILVER SALT DIFFUSION TRANSFER PROCESS

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide image forming material for forming an offset printing plate by a silver salt diffusion transfer method with excellent conformability and high resolution between the printing plate and its print and reduce the sensitivity loss of the image forming material to a minimum. SOLUTION: Image forming material contains (i) an image receiving layer containing the physical development center. (ii) a photosensitive layer containing a silver halide emulsion in the water permeable relation to the image receiving layer, and (iii) a stress resistant composition in the water permeable relation to the image receiving layer in this order on the hydrophilic face of a support body. The stress resistant composition contains nondiffusible dye or pigment grain at the quantity of 0.02g/m<2> -1.0g/m<2> , and the silver halide emulsion has absorptivity to light within a sensitive range.
