Repair of damaged bearing shell fits on motor bike frames - by boring out control head, then coating bearing with hard chromium and turning or grinding it to new control head diameter

The procedure for the repair of damaged bearing fits on motorbike frames involves geometrically aligning the damaged frame. It is tensioned for the processing of the control head by a milling machine and the centre point of the control head is found by a measuring system. The head is then bored out. An original bearing from the bike manufacturer is electro-coated on the outer edge of the outer race with hard chromium to a larger diameter than the diameter processed in the control head. The chromed outer race is tensioned in a mounting and turned or ground to the diameter of the processed control head, taking regard of the permitted tolerances.
