PURPOSE: To efficiently detect the density of an original even when it takes long time for stabilizing the output of an optical lamp. CONSTITUTION: This image forming device is provided with automatic density adjustment means 39 and 40 detecting the density of the original by irradiating the original on an original platen with light by using the optical lamp and scanning it by using a scanning means and controlling the density of a formed image according to the detected density. Besides, the adjustment means 39 and 40 are provided with a first means 40 reciprocatingly moving the scanning means as the means dedicated for detecting the density of the original and a second means 110 starting the detecting action of the density of the original when the scanning means is reciprocatingly moved by considering the stable time of the optical lamp. |
