A buckle comprises a box member 28 having side walls supporting a sliding roller 36 round which one end of a belt is adjustably wound and a pivoting latch member 44 spring urged so that a downwardly turned tab 60 thereon engages in an aperture in a tongue member 16 to which one end of a belt is attached. A press button 86 in an aperture in a cover 70 engages a section 108 of an arm 106 of a release lever pivoting on the base member, a projecting arm 104 on the lever engages beneath a tab 62 on the latch member. Pressing the button rotates the lever to release the tab 60 from the tongue member and so free the tongue member for withdrawal from the base member. |
