The turbine has a rotor within a stator with a central inlet and two or more stages on each side of the inlet. The stages are formed by recesses cut in the rotor. Each state consists of four cavities spaced equally around the rotor. The outside of the rotor is domed (100) so that the stage has a larger diameter in its centre than at its axial ends. Each of the four cavities (102) has a base parallel to one of the transverse axes (O, P) of the rotor and two walls parallel to the other axis. Each cavity is divided internally by a partition (105) extending from the base of the cavity partly towards its outside. The thickness of the partition increases radially outwards.
