PURPOSE: To obtain a high quality image with gradation by controlling temperature in a pressure chamber during the generation of bubbles, changing the volume of bubbles optionally, and by changing the area of a dot. CONSTITUTION: A heat generating resistor 22 for heating ink preliminarily and a counter electrode 28 for boiling ink to generate bubbles are installed in a pressure chamber 27 having an ink droplet discharge opening 26. The time for applying voltage to the resistor 22 and the electrode 28 is controlled, and the size of the bubbles is changed. |
