The method involves use of a platform (PL) which rotates at a constant angular velocity to sweep the field of view. The mirror (MI) rotation is at half this angular velocity or at a rate G times this value if the system has a magnification, G. The reverse motion returns the mirror to its initial position. The sum of the time intervals for these two motions is one frame period of the picture taken by the camera. The platform turns through an angle equal to the quotient of the angle of the viewing field of the camera through the mirror in the direction of rotation of the platform divided by a whole number, N, in order to superimpose N successive pictures by the camera, shifted angularly by the quotient.
