ADHESIVE COMPOSITION AND COMPOSITE MATERIAL OF RUBBER AND FIBER

PURPOSE: To obtain an adhesive composition providing a fiber with wear resistance and adhesiveness by blending a latex of a carboxyl-containing highly saturated nitrile rubber with a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin and a specific resin. CONSTITUTION: (A) A latex of a carboxyl-containing highly saturated nitrile rubber (e.g. a hydrogenated substance of butadiene-acrylonitrile-methacrylic acid copolymer rubber) is mixed with (B) a resorcinol-formaldehyde resin and (C) an aromatic epoxy resin (e.g. bisphenol A type epoxy resin). The reaction ratio resorcinol and formaldehyde of the component B is preferably 1:1 to 1:3 (molecular ratio). The component C is preferably used in the form of an aqueous dispersion. The amount of the component B blended is preferably 8-20 pts.wt. based on the 100 pts.wt. of the solid content of the latex of the component A. The amount of the component C blended is preferably 3-7 pts.wt. based on 100 pts.wt. of the component A.
