Pigment preparations consist of 15-75 (esp. 20-60%) pigment (I), 25-85, (esp. 40-80%) diglycolterephthalate (the linear oligomer of terephthalic acid and ethylene glycol) or mixtures containing oligomers of this type (II), 0-20 (esp. 0.5-20%) surfactant (III) and up to 70% water or other solvent. - (I) may be inorganic (e.g. TiO2) or organic (e.g. phthalocyanines). - The composition is prepared by mixing the components at 60-140 deg., evaporating off the water and/or solvent and grinding to a fine powder. - The mixture is particularly useful for the colouration of thermoplastic synthetic fibres in the mass e.g. polyamides, polyolefins and particularly polyesters.
