PRODUCTION OF COLOR FILTER

摘要

PURPOSE: To produce a high reliability color filter free from a swell at the edge part of the colored layer and having a small uniform film thickness. CONSTITUTION: A thin gel film 6 is formed on a transparent substrate 4 by a sol-gel method by coating the substrate 4 with a sol contg. a metal alkoxide chemically modified withβ-diketone and a pigment 5 having a desired hue by a spinning or dipping method and then drying the sol. A mask 7 having a desired pattern shape is superposed on the surface of the gel film 6, the gel film 6 is irradiated with UV 8 from the mask side and the mask 7 is removed. The gel film in the unirradiated part 9 is selectively removed by washing with alcohol or an acidic soln. and the remaining colored gel layer in the irradiated part 10 is heat-treated to obtain the objective color filter patterned in the desired shape.
