In order to obtain coloured paraffin or stearin in powder form (candle sand), said paraffin or stearin must be coloured. So far said colouring has been carried out during the production of the candle sand. A drawback of this method is that the machine used for this must be cleaned every time a new colour is to be used. The invention provides a method for colouring the candle sand in powder form in cold condition.
