<p>PURPOSE: To prevent the radiation heat from a catalytic converter from being radiated to the outside through penetrating holes by forming a boss part in such a shape that the end surface thereof is wider than the penetrating hole so that it can close the penetrating hole, and also by fixing a heat-shielding plate to this end surface. CONSTITUTION: A penetrating hole 33a and a fitting hole 33b are formed at, a prescribed interval to a heat-shielding plate 33 by which a catalytic converter 31 is wholly covered. A boss part 35 is fixed by welding W in the position of an outer cylinder 31a corresponding to the penetrating, fitting holes 33a, 33b. The end surface of the boss part 35 has an area as wide as that can simultaneously close the penetrating, fitting holes 33a, 33b, and also on this end surface the male screw part 35b for a sensor and that 35c for a bolt are formed at a prescribed interval. A fitting bolt 37 of the heat-shielding plate 33 and a male screw part 39a of an oxygen concentration sensor 39 are fixed to the boss part 35 by screwing them into a female screw parts 35c, 35b for bolt and sensor respectively. Thus, the radiation heat from the catalytic converter can be securely prevented from being radiated toward the outside through the penetrating hole 33a of the heat-shielding plate 33.</p> |
