<p>The present invention provides biological assay and adsorption supports comprising an inert substrate supporting a nanostructured surface comprising metal coated, oriented, discrete submicron-size whiskers. Optionally, conformally metal coated whiskers may be partially encapsulated or conformally coated with a second material. The nanostructured surface adsorbs biomolecules rapidly at high levels of tight binding without vortexing or agitation. Advantageously, the bound biomolecules retain their biological activity.</p> |
