PURPOSE: To provide an image forming device capable of providing a high-- density and -quality image stably by always attaining sufficient development properties irrespective of the kind of latent image and preventing the soiling of a plate like member and an electrode member without generating fogging in a background part as well and a color mixture even at the time of executing the superimposing development of multicolor toner images. CONSTITUTION: In the image forming device which is provided with the plate like member 43 having an electrode part on the upstream side in the moving direction of a developer in a developing area an image forming body 10 faces a developer carrier 41, applies a DC voltage to the electrode part and a superimposed voltage of DC and AC components to the developer carrier 41 and soars up toner under a vibrating electric field, to develop the latent image on the image forming body 10 and form an image, the latent image is discriminated with image data and the DC voltage applied to the electrode part or the voltage, frequency or waveform of the AC component applied to the carrier 41 is changed with the result of the discrimination. |
