<p>PURPOSE: To provide the image feature extraction device for the skin pattern image which precisely extracts image features such as the direction, pitch, etc., of skin ridges from the skin pattern image and to provide the image processor for the skin pattern image which performs image processing for removing noise and emphasizing the ridges. CONSTITUTION: A filter group storage means 15 stores plural filters consisting of a two-dimensional array of weight coefficients. According to the filters, a filtering means 12 filters the skin pattern image stored in an image storage means 11. As for respective images after the filtering, an image intensity calculating means 13 calculates image intensity in plural local areas set previously in the image and a feature calculating means 14 calculates image features in the respective local areas by using information on the obtained image intensity in the local areas. Signal components of the image corresponding to the filters are relatively emphasized and other components are relatively attenuated.</p> |
