Securing wires of cable by twisting e.g. for electrical supply of strip-lighting luminaires in large halls and galleries

A procedure for securing the wires of a cable (1) has the wires held at two places (4) at a certain distance apart and the cable is twisted by between one and ten revolutions (preferably between four and seven) between these places, preferably in the middle (5). At the holding places along the cable, contact elements (2) are joined on. In the region of three adjacent contact elements, the wires are held by holding the outer ones fast or by holding the wires fast at a certain distance from them, whilst the middle contact elements are rotated. Neighbouring sections of wire are twisted in opposite directions.
