PURPOSE: To provide an ink supplementing unit in which ink can be easily supplemented to an ink cartridge and there is no fear of contaminating the circumference in the case of supplementing the ink. CONSTITUTION: The ink supplementing unit for an ink cartridge comprises a cartridge container 21 for containing the ink cartridge 1, a container containing unit 22 for containing an ink container 3, a cover openably disposed at the upper part of the container 21, an ink discharge port 24 provided at the inner surface of the cover, a communicating tube 25 for communicating the port 24 with the container 3, and a mechanism for feeding the ink in the container 3 to the port 24 via the tube 25. The cartridge 1 is contained in the container 21, the container 21 is contained in the unit 22, closed with the cover 23, the mechanism for feeding the ink in the container 3 is operated in the state that the cover is closed to supplement the ink in the container 3 to the cartridge 1. |
