PURPOSE: To provide a waste gas purifying filter which is mountable at an automobile, has a sufficient backwashing and regenerating capacity and is easily producible at relatively low calcination. CONSTITUTION: This filter is used to remove solid particles consisting essentially of carbon from waste combustion gases and is the waste gas purifying filter 1 composed of cordierite grains and joining material in the form of alternately sealing both ends of honeycomb shapes with sealing parts 5. An iron-component enters into the cordierite grains to form solid solution. The solution formation of the iron-component into the cordierite grains is executed by using talc to make the iron-component into solution as the raw material for the cordierite to be formed as aggregate. A waste gas purifying device is obtd. by fixing the waste gas purifying filter into a boiler proper.
