Tensioning mechanism for foils in solar collectors

A tensioning mechanism for the convex absorber base of a foil-coated solar collector has the foil (4) ending in a loop(12) mounted on a retaining tube (5) which is laid on brackets(7) fastened to the frame (1). There is a tensioning tube (6) between the retaining tube and the absorber base 92), pressed by springs (19) against the foil. The tensioning tube is held by shackles (14) that sit on the brackets so that they can turn. Between the axis of the shackles and the tensioning tube is a bolt (17), the spring bearing upon its head. The nut (20) adjusts the amount of tension. The brackets can be adjusted in the vertical direction.
