PURPOSE: To inexpensively obtain a heat-resistant ceramic product having a thermal expansion coefficient equal to that of zirconia by slurrying a mixture consisting essentially of mullite powder, magnesia powder and an organic binder, casting the mixture to a fixed mold, molding, taking out the molding from the mold after hardening, drying and sintering it. CONSTITUTION: Two kinds of magnesia powder having different particle diameters (10-50μm particle diameter and 100-200μm particle diameter) are used and 100 pts.wt. of ceramic power is mixed with 5-50 pts.wt. of the two kinds of magnesia powder. Mullite particles having 10-50μm particle diameters are used as mullite particles. A sintered compact of ceramic is prepared by blending 100 pts.wt. of mullite powder with 67-150 pts.wt. of magnesia having a high thermal expansion coefficient so as to make the thermal expansion of the sintered compact of ceramic coincident with that of zirconia. The thermal expansion coefficient of mullite powder is 5×10<-6> /k, that of magnesia powder is 13×10<-6> /k, these powders having different thermal expansion coefficients are prepared to make the sintered compact of cement to arbitrary select 5-13×10<-6> /k thermal expansion coefficient. A phenol resin may be used as an organic binder. |
