PURPOSE: To shorten the total recording time and prevent dislocation and chromatic misconvergence due to elongation/contraction, slip, or skew of a recording medium in the transporting direction even in the case where a recording method including a transferring process is adopted. CONSTITUTION: A measuring means 31 formed on a recording medium 33 at a certain spacing in the transporting direction to measure the intervals of the first marks and a recording station 23 to form a latent image on an image carrier 21 with a certain number of lines at each of the first marks are installed in positions at approx. equal distance I from the point where the image carrier 21 contacts with a transfer part 25, and at least the first marks are recorded on the recording medium 31 simultaneously with image recording of the first color, and thereby the position of the recording medium elongated and contracted with the image to be transferred is put identical to the position of the transfer part 25 only by controlling the line intervals for recording the image in compliance with the amount of elongation and contraction of the medium 33 sensed by the measuring means 31, and it is possible to transfer the image in compliance with the elongation and contraction of the medium and accomplish accurate position coordination with a simple configuration. |
