PURPOSE: To attain transmission and reception in an excellent way without being affected by the length of a metallic part in the radio equipment main body and by human hands in the portable radio equipment with built antenna in a radio equipment, main body such as the portable telephone set. CONSTITUTION: In the portable radio equipment to which a printed circuit board 10 and metallic components such as shield cases 12, 15 are mounted and in which a receiver 11 is arranged to an upper part of a front side, aλ/4 microstrip antenna 16 is provided to a position at the rear side of the metallic component, that is, the shield case 15 arranged to the rear side of the receiver 11 opposite to the receiver 11. Furthermore, a ground section 18 connecting to the shield case 15 in theλ/4 microstrip antenna 16 is arranged downward.
