PURPOSE: To make it possible to simplify the construction of a pinion gear of a sliding type key lid and to assure the smooth operation of this key lid by providing the key lid with bearings disposed at the rear end of the key lid and a shaft meshed with rack gears. CONSTITUTION: A casing 1 houses a keyboard device 3 juxtaposed with keys 2 and encloses the part exclusive of the front surface of a keyboard. Side plates 6 exist on both right and left sides of this casing 1. Guides 8 for sliding and guiding the front part 7 of the key lid 4 and the rack gears 10 meshed with the pinion shaft 9 disposed at the rear end of the key lid 4 are mounted at the side plates 6. Further, the rear part of the key lid 4 is supported by the pinion shaft 9 which is inserted freely turnably in the bearings 13 mounted at the key lid 4 and has the length approximately equal to the length in the opening direction of the key lid 4. This pinion shaft 9 has a shape of a gear meshing with the rack gears 10 over the entire part of its outer peripheral surface and turns while meshing with the rack gears 10 disposed at both side plates 6 thereby synchronizing the moving quantity in the longitudinal direction of both side parts of the key lid 4 at the time the key lid 4 moves forward and backward. |
