A thermoplastic tube is made by winding spirals of strip (2) and bonding adjacent turns. A strip of jointing material (8) that can be melted is wound in and fused to make the join. Pressure rollers ensure that the jointing material (8) does not escape at the edges (9,10). Reinforcement (3), e.g. a metal wire or plastic monofilament, can be wound in at the same time. |
