METHOD FOR OXIDISING HYDROCARBONS, ALCOHOLS OR KETONES USING HETEROGENEOUS CATALYSIS

A method for oxidising liquid-phase hydrocarbons, alcohols or ketones in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst. The method particularly enables the oxidation of a liquid-phase hydrocarbon, alcohol or ketone to carboxylic acid using molecular oxygen or a gas containing same, in an at least partial solvent for the desired carboxylic acid, and in the presence of a heterogeneous catalyst comprising at least manganese atoms incorporated into the crystal lattice of a molecular sieve. The liquid phase comprises a solvent generally selected from polar protic solvents and polar aprotic solvents, and particularly from carboxylic acids and esters thereof.
