PURPOSE: To obtain the subject composition containing an aromatic polyethersulfone in a specific solvent system at a specific ratio, excellent in film peeling properties from a supporting base plate upon its casting and stability in storage, and also excellent in the surface operties, optical isotropic properties and homogeneity of an obtained film, and useful as an optical film, etc. CONSTITUTION: This aromatic polyethersulfone solution composition contains (A) 15-90 pts.wt. solvent system consisting of 1-10wt.% water or a 1-6C (branched) aliphatic alcohol and 99-90wt.% solvent mainly consisting of 1,3- dioxorane and (B) 85-10 pts.wt. aromatic polyethersulfone [e.g. a polyethersulfone consisting of the repeating unit of the formula ](Ar<1> -SO2 -Ar<2> -O) (Ar<1> , Ar<2> are each a 6-12C aromatic hydrocarbon group), the repeating unit of the formula) (Ar<3> -X-Ar<4> -O-Ar<5> -SO2 -Ar<6> -O) (Ar<3> to Ar<6> are each Ar<1> X is a 1-12C divalent hydrocarbon group) or the repeating unit of the formula: (Ar<7> -SO2 -Ar<8> -O-Ar<9> -O-) (Ar<7> to Ar<9> are each Ar<1> ). |
