PURPOSE: To attain a method for adjusting glossiness on a surface, by which a pure titanium sheet metal with low glossiness on the surface is efficiently manufactured by skin pass rolling by selecting a draft per pass, using a specific relational expression to attain specific glossiness. CONSTITUTION: A pure titanium sheet metal with the glossiness of y% is manufactured by performing the skin pass rolling to a base stock with the glossiness of x% before the rolling. In this case, the draft (r)% per pass is selected corresponding to x% by using the relationships among the following formulas I and II and inequality III. The glossiness is adjusted to a specific value of (y)% by finishing the base stock by one pass rolling, using rolling rolls whose surface roughness Ra is >=4.4μm. y=x×(1-F(r)/100)... Formula I, F(r)=1+24r-1.9r<2> ... Formula II, 3<=r<=5... Inequality III. That is, when glossiness on the surface of the base stock before skin pass rolling is known, the glossiness on the surface after the skin pass rolling can be correctly forecast, and a pure titanium sheet metal with the glossiness having a sufficiently low and forecast value, can be efficiently manufactured.
