The block has two end supports (1A, 1B) which are placed on the ground or on the supports of adjacent sections. These are linked by two symmetrical ailerons (2, 3) which form an opening (10) between them. The upper surface (6) of each aileron slopes downwards towards the centre of the block. Reinforcing sections (11) join the two ailerons. The end supports have lugs (13) on one horizontal face which fit into grooves (15) on the other horizontal face of the section superimposed on the first. After the screen has been erected using the blocks, the gaps (10) are filled with earth or with an inert material such as shredded tyres. The gaps may also be filled with a watertight material such as concrete or tarmac.
