PURPOSE: To improve the flame ejecting direction of a burner and increase a combustion efficiency by a method wherein the ejecting direction of a burner, which passes through the center of injection, is extended downwardly by a slanting angle with respect to the rotary central axis toward the inner peripheral surface of a furnace body. CONSTITUTION: A horizontal rotary furnace type incinerator is equipped with a furnace body 5, a charging port 10 for supplying substances to be incinerated into the furnace body 5, a burner 31, injecting flame against the substances to be incinerated in the furnace body 5, and a discharging port, discharging exhaust gas and powder dust after combustion. The ejection port 32 of the burner 31 is positioned at one side between both sides of the direction of central axis P of rotation while the furnace body 5 can be rotated with respect to the injection port 32. An injecting direction Q, passing the central axis 32 of injection of the injecting port 32, is extended toward the inner peripheral surfaces 12, 13 of the furnace body 5, which are positioned below the central axis P of rotation, with a slanting angleθwith respect to the central axis P of rotation. According to this method, the ejecting direction of flame of the burner 31 is improved and, as a result, a combustion efficiency can be improved.
