PURPOSE: To prevent the surface damage of a molded product by surrounding a foamable resin material by a stretchable skin sheet to foam the same in a cavity to form a molded product covered with the skin sheet and having a predetermined shape. CONSTITUTION: A skin sheet 15 is placed on the upper surface of a lower mold 10a and an upper mold 10b is placed thereon to form a housing chamber 11a with predetermined vol. to the upper part of a cavity 11. Subsequently, a predetermined amt. of a foamable resin material 16 is charged in the housing chamber 11a from a supply port 13 and the supply port 13 is closed by a plug 14. Next, heated steam is allowed to flow in the cavity 11 from venting holes 12 to heat the foamable resin material 16 and the skin sheet 15 to foam the foamable resin material 16 up to predetermined magnification. The skin sheet 15 is deformed along the inner surface of the cavity 11, that is, the inner surface of the lower mold 10a. After predetermined cooling and drying, the whole is demolded and finished to obtain a molded product wherein the surface of the foamed resin object is covered with the skin sheet 15 having a predetermined shape. |
