ANTIMICROBIAL ZEOLITE WITH LOW-DISCOLORING ACTION AND ITS PRODUCTION

PURPOSE: To obtain an antimicrobial zeolite extremely low in the activity to discolor organic polymers containing it when they are subjected to heat or sunlight. CONSTITUTION: This antimicrobial zeolite is obtained by treating the surface of an antimicrobial metal-carrying zeolite with 0.5-20wt.%, based on the above zeolite, of a composition comprising (A) 100 pts.wt. of a hydrolyzable silane and/or its oligomer containing 10-100wt.% of an aryl group-bearing hydrolyzable silane and/or its oligomer, (B) 1-1000 pts.wt. of a basic nitrogen-bearing organopolysiloxane and (C) 0.2-250 pts.wt. of a water-soluble acid capable of forming a salt with the component B.
