PURPOSE: To obtain a tire reduced in rolling resistance and being excellent in abrasion resistance. CONSTITUTION: This is a pneumatic tire whose tread is made of a rubber composition prepared by kneading 100 pts.wt. natural rubber and/or synthetic diene rubber and 10-85 pts.wt. silica whose surface is made partially hydrophobic by treating it with an organosilicon compound so that the degree of hydrophobicity A may satisfy the formula: 15<=A<=65 [wherein A=100-(di-n- butylamine absorption of the surface-treated silica/di-n-butyl-amine absorption of the untreated silica)×100].
