POROUS BASE MATERIAL AND WATER TREATMENT MATERIAL USING THE SAME

PURPOSE: To provide a water treatment material easy to bond bacteria or fine dust and hard to generate clogging by bonding a plurality of nonwoven fabrics 4 containing thermally adhesive fibers to which porous inorg. particles are bonded by a thermally adhesive resin at spot like or linear seal parts formed by fusion by the thermally adhesive resin and the thermally adhesive fibers. CONSTITUTION: Porous inorg. particles 1 are bonded to the constitutional fibers 3 of a nonwoven fabric by a thermally adhesive resin 2 and the thermally adhesive resin 2 used in this bonding is fused to the thermally adhesive fibers contained in the nonwoven fabric 4 to bond two or more nonwoven fabrics 4 at dot like or linear seal parts 5. By this constitution, a water treatment material having small pore size regions easy to bond bacteria and fine dust and large pore size regions hard to generate clogging even when bacteria propagate or fine dust is caught and large in the contact area with water to be treated and capable of enhancing the passage of water between the nonwoven fabrics 4 is obtained.
