PURPOSE: To obtain an image whose edge part has excellent resolution and non-edge part has excellent gradation property by switching a duty ratio at every dot based on dot information of manuscript, modulating intensity of irradiation light corresponding to the duty ratio, and developing a latent image on an image carrier body. CONSTITUTION: An image data is sent from an I/F section 200, through a FIFO memory 202, to aγcorrection section 204, a D/A conversion section 208, and an amplification circuit 209, wherein the image data is amplified by a gain set by a gain signal generating section 226 and is sent to an LD driver 212 through a drive I/O 210. Further, a printer control section 206 sends an edge signal to a duty processing section 216 wherein edge force is kept high and 75% is set at a non-edge part, and grainy property and gradation property are kept high. Accordingly, in the duty processing section 216, duty processing signals 218 and 220 of the non-edge part and an edge part are sent to a semiconductor laser driver 214 through a parallel I/O 222. |
