PURPOSE: To attain the improving of a long-duration reliability by mounting an optical waveguide in a notched part and optical fibers in the part other than the notched part, connecting the optical waveguide to the optical fibers and making the optical characteristic hardly change with respect to a temp. fluctuation. CONSTITUTION: Optical fibers 16 are mounted on a base-block 30, a notched part 40 is formed by notching the block 30 together with optical fibers 16, an optical waveguide 20 is mounted on the part 40 and then the optical waveguide 20 and the optical fibers 16 are connected each other. As to a module 44, the optical waveguide 20 is mounted on the part 40 by using base material in which the part 40 is provided and the fibers 16 are mounted on the part other than the part 40 and then the optical paths of the waveguide 20 and the fibers 16 are connected each other. In the mounting of the fibers 16 to the block 30, V grooves 32 continuing from one side end to the other side end in the Z direction on the block 30 are made to make positions of fibers correct and the fibers 16 are fixed in them by adhesion. |
