An inflatable cap (1) may consist of four compartments (Z1-Z4) corresponding to the frontal, parieto-temporal, occipital and cervical zones and an additional compartment (Z5) which is a foldable eye visor. The cap is made from a supple material and covers the whole of the skull except the face. Each compartment of the cap is separately supplied with air under pressure which is regulated by electric-actuable valves controlled by a microprocessor with interface and keyboard. Pressures may be programmed to vary at different frequencies and warm or cool air and music may be introduced.
