PURPOSE: To exactly decide an inclination angle by calculating the inclination angles of many boundary segments consisting of a border line based on boundary data and deciding the inclination angle of the image pickup plane of an object to coordinate axes based on the distribution of inclination angles. CONSTITUTION: Assuming that a parts adsorption nozzle 10 adsorbs electronic parts 12 out of the boundary, the boundary composed of the contour lines of the parts 12 and the nozzle 10 is displayed on the screen of a CRT device 42. Two peak values are provided by preparing a histogram while using the inclination angles calculated based on all boundary point pairs. An average value between a value subtracting 90 deg. from the larger inclination angle and that of the smaller inclination angle is calculated, defined as the inclination angle of the image pickup plane of parts 12 to the coordinate axes and stored in the inclination angle memory of a working memory 38. Besides, the CPU 34 performs the decision of whether it is the parts 12 or not and the arithmetic of the size, central position and inclination angle of the parts 12 or the like. On the other hand, the provided inclination angle is displayed on the CRT device 42. |
