PURPOSE: To provide a signal generator for an internal combustion engine ignition device which requires no exact setting of an air gap between a signal generating member and a reluctor and which is simple-structured. CONSTITUTION: A signal generating member 3 consists of a permanent magnet 5 and a magnetic sensor 9 which outputs signals of different states when the magnetic flux which it detects is a detecting operation level or above and when it is the detecting operation level or below. Between the magnet 5 and the magnetic sensor 9, a space Ag is formed. A reluctor 2 is formed on a rotor 1 which is installed on a rotary shaft of an engine. The reluctor 2 is so structured that it may pass the space Ag formed between the magnetic sensor 9 and the permanent magnet 5 while the rotor 1 is turning. |
