PURPOSE:To make it possible to collect a constant amount of heat by a method wherein in a device in which hydrogen gas is made to be adsorbed by the metal hydride contained in the titled vessel and the heat generated by the adsorption of the hydrogen gas by the metal hydride is collected by a heat medium in a flow passage, which is shaped to a star-like sectional configuration including a plurality of slits extending in the radial direction. CONSTITUTION:The metal hydride containing vessel 3 functions such that the hydrogen gas supplied from an inlet-outlet port 8 is made to be adsorbed by the metal hydride 1 and the resultant heat is collected by the heat medium flowing through the flow passage 9. In this case, the passage 9 is shaped to the star- like configuration including the slits 9a extending radially outwardly from the center of the passage 9 and both ends of the passage are connected to a water outlet port 10 and a water inlet port 11, respectively. Thus, with the above structure, in case where the heat generating in the metal hydride 1 is transferred to the flow passage 9, the front line of the heat spreads gradually outwardly in the form of a petal and since the spreading of the heat is always constant in length,it is possible to keep always constant the amount of heat transferred to the heat medium flowing in the flow passage 9. |
