PURPOSE: To provide a thermal recording material generating no blocking even if kept for a long period of time under high temp. and high humidity environment. CONSTITUTION: In a thermal recording material wherein synthetic paper or a synthetic resin film is used as a support and a thermal recording layer containing a colorless electron donating dye and an electron acceptive coupler forming a color by the contact reaction with the dye as color forming components is provided on the single surface of the support, the contact angle of water prescribed by JIS K3211 of the other surface of the support under 20 deg.C and 65% RH environment is set to 40-60 deg..
