The parachute sail double surface wing span is reduced by folding, in flight, one or more cavities onto themselves by a system of halyards (1) and internal pulleys (2). The halyards and pulleys are fastened on the inter-cavity partitions (3) to form a reduction zone and bring closer together these partitions when the halyards are pulled. The halyards are joined in a single cavity partition (4) in order to allow simultaneous pulling and locking by the parachutist. The anchoring point of one partition has an eyelet for fixing the halyard ends which then pass through holes in reduction zone partitions to join on to the pulleys
